The international market in antique journals. Interview with John Benjamins
Based in Amsterdam and specializing exclusively in journals, John Benjamins is currently one of the world foremost antiquarians in this domain. His varied catalogues offer a wide range of journals of all kinds (literary, political, scientific, etc.) from many countries. He examines successively the various fluctuations of the supply and demand for antique journals during the last twenty years – after the fat days of the Sixties -, the important role of private collectors as well as the difficulties peculiar to libraries and specialized institutions, both in the conservation and the upgrading of their collections.
