French Literary Journals – the 1990 vintage
Starting from a presentation of the drafts and first issues of French literary journals founded in 1990, the writer offers a contrasting picture where literary and poetical history, translations, monographs and records from seminars have their place alongside literary creation, within a framework emphasizing the selective affinities of the networks built around each publication, rather than group or literary school dogmatism. So doing, he explains the intrinsic problems of this journal activity, while stressing that these journals are part of this kind of romanticism which holds the journal as the ultimate defence of literary liberties and editorial democracy
