Pierre Jean Jouve et les Cahiers du Sud : polémiques, amertumes et réconciliations
The article recounts the relationship between the poet and translator Pierre Jean Jouve and the different editors of the Cahiers du Sud in the year 1929 to 1952.
Pierre Jean Jouve was knwon as a difficult person, feared for his violent temper and very touchy. So inevitably, the collaboration between the different editors of the Cahiers du Sud (André Gaillard, Raymond Schwab, Jean Ballard) and Jouve was destined to encounter many crisis. Although Jouve was granted a privileged role since 1929, serious misunderstandings turned up which led to a near separation in 1952.
