Le Mouton blanc, Promoter of modern classicism
The review Le Mouton blanc was founded by Jean Hytier in 1922. Close to the Unanimistes, specially to Jules Romains, Jean Hytier defended in his review the idea of a classical litterature being at the same time modern : he aims to define a space between the excesses of Dada and the creations inspired by the former century. After seven issues published within three years, Le Mouton blanc disappeared : a difficult line of action, lacking severity in its choices of articles, the dissensions of the collaborators managed to destroy this « Auberge » for litterature.
