Catherine Weinzaepflen se souvient de Land
…créé en compagnie de Christiane Veschambre en 1981. Chacun des 9 numéros parus jusqu’en 1984 s’organisait autour d’un thème non nommé pour le lecteur qu’une couverture créée par un artiste permettait d’approcher. Sensible à faire connaître des textes de femmes, les sommaires étaient paritaires. L’amitié avait sa part dans les choix mais aussi le goût de la découverte, de la traduction et l’exigence d’une écriture. La revue qui connut une belle réception aurait sans doute nécessité une gestion plus prenante pour s’affirmer davantage. La tentation de faire une nouvelle revue rôde encore tant le plaisir d’avoir fait Land reste entier…

Each of the 9 issues that appeared until 1984 was organised around a theme which the reader was allowed to approach through a cover designed by an artist without the theme being explicitly named. Committed to the equal promotion of texts written by women as by men, the summaries were balanced. Friendship had its part in the choices but also a taste for discovery, for new translations and demanding writing. The journal, which was well received, would undoubtedly have required more assertive management.
