Interfaces

Interfaces est une revue illustrée qui prend pour champ l’interface, la surface de partage, entre deux moyens d’expression différents mais connexes: l’image et le langage. Cette interface a déplacé ses marques parce que l’image mobile des médias s’est coulée dans le temps comme le langage. Avec lui. Mais ce nouveau partage n’abolit pas l’ancien. Il relance l’exploration de l’interface langage/image fixe.
De là notre titre pluriel et nos recherches en :
• Littérature (Le statut de l’image au théâtre, dans la fiction et dans la poésie) ;
• Linguistique (Représentations mentales, énonciation, métaphorisation, didactique) ;
• Arts, médias, civilisation (Articulation art/littérature, médias/littérature, art et critique) ;
• Épistémologie (Image et cognition, imaginaire scientifique).

Interfaces is a bilingual illustrated journal focusing on the dividing line – the •interface• – between language and the image, two means of expression different and yet inseparable. This interface was displaced when the cinema made the image move, then speak, thus making time its medium and creating a new type of discourse. But the old interface between language and the static image still remains and its power is enhanced by modern technology.
Hence our plural title and our interest in:
• Literature (book illustration, stage decoration, literary fiction, poetry) ;
• Linguistics (mental representations, enunciation, metaphorisation, didactics) ;
• The visual arts, the media and civilization studies (the relationship between literature and the visual arts, literature and the media, art citicism) ;
• Epistemology (image and cognition, the scientific imagination).
